Flushing and redness of the face, sometimes together with burning or increased sensitivities lasting hours or days, can be the result of a medical condition known as rosacea. Three main stages of rosacea are distinguished by transient flushing, persistent visible blood vessels, and swollen red bumps or pustules. With topical and oral medications, rosacea can be treated, controlled and improved. IPL treatment of facial redness and blood vessels would be beneficial as well.

IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, is a safe and proven treatment for flushing and visible blood vessels. The hand-piece delivering the safe light is in contact with the epidermis, chilling and comforting as the light is passed through the upper epidermis toward its target. The procedure takes 20-30 minutes, is well-tolerated, and leaves patients with mild to moderate sunburn heat and redness for 6-24 hours. Some patients may need several treatments to meet their goals.
