Three main stages of rosacea are distinguished by transient flushing, persistent visible blood vessels, and swollen red bumps or pustules. The hand-piece delivering the safe light is in contact with the epidermis, chilling and comforting as the light is passed through the upper epidermis toward its target. The procedure takes 20-30 minutes, is well-tolerated, and leaves patients with mild to moderate sunburn heat and redness for 6-24 hours. Some patients may need several treatments to meet their goals.
