Using Fractional Laser

Before After
Boost your confidence and feel better with a smoother complexion. Fractional Laser treatment consists of a series of 4-6 treatments spaced about 4 weeks apart. The technology uses 1540nm high intensity light which passes deep into the dermis in tiny columns, resulting in controlled thermal 'wounding.' The result is the formation of new collagen over 2 months' time to soften and plump facial scars gradually over a 6-8 month period. After each treatment there is mild swelling for 1-3 days, and redness for 3-5 days; these are treated with ice compresses and calming moisturizing lotions. Many of our patients are going out the next day, with just some light makeup.
Using dermal fillers and/or subincision
The use of surgical subincision into the dermis under contracted acne scarring to release and soften tissue is a standard method to treat some acne scarring. It can be combined with hyaluronic acid fillers to further plump, smooth and relax the skin.
Using punch excisions
Some scars are larger and deeper such as chicken pox or ice pick scarring. Improvements can be made by surgically excising the atrophic skin and suturing the adjacent edges evenly.
Using chemical peels
More deeply penetrating chemical peels in a series can soften the appearance of shallow acne scarring and help with the often accompanying even darker pigmentation.
